Basingstoke Graffiti Tunnel

I pass this tunnel almost every day, and I just loved the artwork inside created by @SianStoreyArt. One afternoon as I was heading home I just looked at the tunnel decided, I'm gonna remake this tunnel. So I started this project.

In order to capture the artwork inside, I used the free Scaniverse app to scan the tunnel using the build in Iphone lidar. I then baked it down onto a low poly mesh and combined it with static meshes that allows me to vertex paint different brick materials to help capture the look of the original tunnel. I wanted it to be a bit more open and have your focus drawn to the tunnel. So I cut back on some of the foliage. I still had to make some foliage such a Milk Thistle, Stinging Nettle and smaller plants to help fill in the spaces.

Overall I am very happy with the outcome and I am slowly growing more confident in making foliage that is more optimised for games.

This scene currently runs at 75fps with Lumen used for Global Illumination and reflections.
